Many candidates prepare for government jobs in order to secure their future. While the competition is high for vacant posts in the central government, there is comparatively less competition in the state government. One such agency that recruits the candidates for state government jobs is the DSSSB, i.e. the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board. The DSSSB examines to recruit candidates for the various posts in the departments of NCT Government, Delhi and its autonomous bodies. DSSSB Recruitment 2020 – Latest Updates
The students who had appeared for the DSSSB Lower Division Clerk Recruitment exam in August last year can now check their results on the official website as 67 candidates out of 129 have been shortlisted. For those candidates belonging to various reservation categories, the same criteria have been applied to this recruitment as well. Every advertisement released by the DSSSB has eligibility criteria and the complete selection process mentioned in it. The candidates need to look through the eligibility criteria very carefully as it will provide all the necessary information like the qualification, passing percentage and years of experience if required.
Eligibility Criteria for DSSSB Recruitment 2020
The candidates applying for DSSSB posts need to pass the basic eligibility criteria. This criterion includes any Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or a Diploma in relevant field for the respective vacancies. DSSSB sets the eligibility criteria for the candidates who are willing to participate in their recruitment exams. The age limit defined for the various posts advertised is given below:
- PGT Posts: 36 Years
- TGT Posts: 32 Years
- Music Teacher Posts: 32 Years
- PRT Posts: 30 years
- AE and JE: 27-32 Years
- Group B and C Posts: 27-32 Years
- Other Posts: 30 Years
While the above age limit is for the applicants from the General category, the candidates from the reserved category will benefit from the above through the age relaxation where the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe gets 5 years. The other Backward Community gets the relaxation of 3 years, and Physically, Handicapped gets ten years of age relaxation to apply for DSSSB vacancies.
Academic Qualifications for DSSSB Recruitment 2020
The candidates who wish to apply for PGT posts, a Master’s Degree in the concerned subjects from any recognized university is necessary. For those candidates who have a degree or Diploma in training/education, can also apply for this vacancy. While for the TGT post, the candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized University with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks with required subjects. In addition to this such aspirants should have a working knowledge of Hindi and should have qualified CTET from CBSE.
The aspirants with Engineering background who wish to join as Assistant Engineer or Junior Engineer in various Delhi Government departments must possess an Engineering degree or Diploma in the relevant specification and should have two years of working experience as well. While for other posts, candidates who have a Master’s degree / Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in the relevant subject are eligible for the recruitment test conducted by DSSSB. For example – For DSSSB Music Teacher, aspirants must have a BA degree with Music or passed any recognized music examination.
The DSSSB will conduct the recruitment exam in the offline mode comprising 2 stages. These are – Tier 1 and Tier 2, which is then followed by a skill test for some posts like computer test, typing tests, etc. While there are a few posts where only the Tier 1 exam is conducted.
Both the two tiers conducted during the DSSSB recruitment will include 2 sections where the first section has English, Reasoning, Mathematics Aptitude, General Awareness and Hindi. The marks obtained by the candidate in Tier 1 will be used for shortlisting aspirants for the next stage, i.e. Tier 2, whereas marks obtained in Tier 2 will be used for preparing the final merit list. As far as the marking scheme is concerned, for every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 1 mark whereas 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answers.
