Bollywood sweetheart Alia Bhatt’s quality yet affordable children’s clothing brand, Ed-A-Mamma, got a major boost recently when it joined hands with India’s largest retail brand, Isha Ambani’s Reliance Retail.
The news about the merger was announced by the National Award-winning actress via social media on the 6th of September. Sharing her picture with Isha Ambani, the beautiful actress said in her statement that the merger was essential for the growth of the brand and taking it forward to the next level.
She also said that nobody would understand children’s clothing better than two mothers coming together, hinting at Isha Ambani and herself.
The talented actress, who won everyone’s hearts with her cute dimpled smile and spontaneous acting skills, established Ed-A-Mamma in October 2020 with the aim of providing quality kids’ wear at affordable prices.
The vision was to create a world-class brand that would produce planet-friendly yet fashionable apparel at a reasonable cost.
Currently, the brand sells its products online through its webstore and collaborations with all major online retail platforms such as Ajio, Amazon, Firstcry, Myntra and Tata Click.
Now, after this acquisition by Reliance Retail, Ed-A-Mamma is expected to get a stronger foothold in the physical retail space across the length and breadth of the country.
Mukesh Ambani’s experience and the market cap of Reliance Retail are certainly going to be a boon for this promising young brand.
As far as Reliance Retail is concerned, it is already handling some of the world’s biggest fashion giants such as Giorgio Armani, Hugo Boss and Versace, etc., selling their products through its massive number of retail outlets across India.
And this acquisition further strengthens its presence in the children’s fashion wear segment leaving its competitors far behind.
